Tsuut'ina Language Commissioner
Bruce Starlight is the Tsuut’ina Language Commissioner for the Tsuut’ina Nation. In 2018 through the Grey Eagle Casino revenue he was instrumental in establishing the Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute. The conveyance of Tsuut’ina incorporated linguistic principles for the retention and revitalization of the Tsuut’ina language. In 2005 he was chosen as Citizen of the Century by Alberta. There were 100 recipients of the honor. Bruce was also a Director for the Calgary Exibition and Stampede in 1998. He was the first elected aboriginal Director. He has been a teepee representative for Tsuut’ina since 1972 at the Calgary Stampede.He now wors with the Truth an Reconciliation for the Residential Schools in the City of Calgary.
